The mining town of Špania Dolina is famous throughout Europe for its deposits of copper ore, which also contains silver. Mining in this area dates back to the 11th century. An interesting thing is the sundial located on the church. A beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is offered by the pile of shafts.
